The SHOCKING TRUTH about BAGLESS VACUUM CLEANER Containers.

We have always been truly shocked by the number of consumers purchasing bagless vacuums. It is obvious that the TV infomercials play a large part in the bagless success. Something like, monkey see, monkey do! The truth {this has been documented many times} is that all vacuums pick up Dirt, Dust Mites, Bed Bugs, Fecal Matter, Germs, Filth, Bacteria, Micro-Organisms, Pollen, Urine, Vomit, Etc.. Though it is fascinating to watch this concoction of waste spinning around in the somewhat clear bagless container, but at some point it must be emptied!
Try this procedure inside your house and watch as the cloud goes poof and spreads it’s contents throughout the room. Empty it outside and at least you have some control over where the dust cloud goes. It is an ideal project to do during the long cold winter. Now you get to the fun stuff. Because moisture is sucked into the vacuum along with the “filth” the dirt sticks to the walls of the bagless container and the filters. First, you have to use your hands with waste paper towels try to wipe off the excess that the dumping did not get rid of. Second, you also have to attempt to brush off the accumulated scum, on the filters, so they stay clean enough to let air through. Most manufacturers recommend these expensive “HEPA” filters be replaced approximately every 6 months. By the way, all the above generally means significantly disassembling the unit and then reassembling. Just think, if you could buy a inexpensive disposable bag, that is simply tossed in the trash after being filled with all the ‘STUFF” your vacuum cleaner is supposed to pick up, would you? Most people today buy trash can bags (liners) that when fill they just throw away. That’s because most people do not want to clean out a filthy trash cans! Then how has the American public been taken in by the bagless vacuum craze??
By the way, most of the customers that we see in our Modern Vac & Sew Center’s showrooms that do have bagless vacuums state to us that it was a mistake to purchase and would only purchase a bagged vacuum in the future. The simple thinking is that a consumer can save time and money by not having to buy bags. Then they see the dirt spinning around and assume all the dirt has been picked up.. Unfortunately, there is no one in the Megajippy stores to explain that bagless vacuums require much more maintenance than bagged units and their unique filters should be found, and replaced, every 6 months.
The greatest thing about bagless vacuum cleaners is that on average they must be replaced more often. All the manufacturers make their bagless vacuum cleaners in Southeastern Asia, {Bissell-Korea; Hoover, Eureka, EuroPro, Shark, Dirt Devil-China; Dyson-Malaysia} and love the idea that Americans are buying more vacuums than ever before and filling up landfills at an even greater rate. By the way, we took and filled to capacity, then emptied and repeated the largest Dyson vacuum cleaner “7” times before we could fill just “1” American made Simplicity disposable bag. Bagless containers appear to have a lot of dirt spinning around but really its mostly just air. Whereas vacuum bags have a natural tendency to compact the dirt thus allowing for much greater capacity. Last, but not least, please do not be fooled by the British guy that says, “as vacuum bags fill up the machine looses suction”. That may have been true many years ago but the new designs in bagged vacuums allow for full suction even as the bag fills up. Hope you found this article meaningful.
